View Full Version : FSN Midwest St. Louis Cardinals
Game not available today vs Arizona? What the hell is going on?
My best guess is that FSN Midwest is blacked out because MLB EI is configured to use the SportSouth Cardinals feed (ch 650), which Directv has listed in the guide but never turned on. They've already used the SportSouth Cardinals feed once before this season for MLB EI (and that blacked out the FSN Midwest feed).
Edit: Are you talking about the SportSouth feed not being available for local viewing or are you talking about no Cardinals feed being available for MLB EI? Either way, it's probably the same problem.
That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Why aren't they Using the FSN Midwest Cardinals Home Town Feed?

Beats me, because at least the FSN MW feed will be upconverted SD which is tons better than the SportSouth feed which looks like u are watching through Saran Wrap.
The Sportsouth Cardinals feed isn't even turned on today. Nothing but a black screen.

Thats not true. Although the SportSouth simulcast of FS-Midwest was used on Monday night. It was not used last night. Monday night was the first time I've seen it used.

Monday night was the first time I've seen it used.I didn't mean that MLB EI always uses the SportSouth feed. I'm just saying that channel 671 (the FSN Midwest feed) was blacked out on Monday when the SportSouth feed was used. It's blacked out again today so I'm guessing that MLB EI was scheduled to use the SS feed, which was erroneously never turned on. That's just a guess on my part, but it would explain why 671 is blacked out and why the Cardinals feed isn't available on MLB EI (it's showing a mirror of SportSouth -- nothing but a blank screen).
DirecTv is messing this up. Channel 671 should be used for every Cardinals game which is FSN Midwest.

Should not affect your being able to see the game if you're within the Cardinals market area though, correct?

Correct, only those of us outside the Cardinals market area.

Inside the Cardinals market, I successfully recorded yesterday's game.
Looks like it should be in HD today, now that the series at AZ has ended.

Has anyone email D* about this issue. I emailed and received a response that my email was being forwarded to a specialist for "special handling". The response from the "specialist" was very disturbing. I guess they use the term "specialist" very loosely.
Thanks for writing. I will be happy to address the issue of your Arizona Diamondbacks game. I did notice all the channels the game was on; however, you do have the MLB Extra Innings package. The game was made available to you on channel 730 as this is an MLB channel. In order to get the Cardinals feed you would need to live in the Saint Louis area, because you do not live in either Cardinals region or the Diamondbacks you were allowed to receive the game on the MLB channel since you have that package on your account.
Obviously, they are in need of training. How hard is it to write a script about dual feeds. This is the second year and the CSRs still haven't figured it out.
DirecTv is messing this issue up. Today was the same thing. I was getting the secondary Cardinals Sportsouth Standard Definition Feed instead of getting the FSN Midwest Feed with HD and I am NOT in Cardinals Territory. They have the Sportsouth feed for the Cardinals going to the Extra Innings feeds on the Channels in the 700's range. This is wrong and DirecTv needs to fix this soon.

Fox Sports South has bought many of the STL Cardinals games, they are our home RSN (since we live In TN) , but so far they do not carry Cardinals HD games.
So we are now blacked out of all the FSN Midwest HD games (because they are carried by Fox SS), that we used to get and have to watch Fox Sports South games in SD.
I paid for the HD package, I paid for Sport Pak, I paid for MLB EI. I still can't get games in HD
THIS STINKS.
EDIT: MSGuy what I posted above is the reason why you are blacked out of FSN Midwest HD, because FOX SS is your home RSN.
Guess we need to start a club.

We'll have to see what happens on the next road series. I'm afraid we are going to get stuck with SportSouth when the Cardinals are on the road.

I couldn't care less if they would just give us an HD feed of the game. I am in CT, so Sports South does not own my area. I am paying for the HD portion of MLB extra innings and watching it on the lowest of quality SD feed of Fox Sports South Tennessee.
