I just replaced a directivo with a R22 and it ask what type of dish I have. I also have a hr20-100 so does that mean I have a slimline 3? The dish is a big oblong dish with 3lnb on the end. I think when i pick that it came back with errors on some sats. One more question if this is a standard receiver why does it have 1080 res on the front panel? Thanks Michael

No, most likely you have a 5 LNG slimline. It has the 1080 option since the R22 is actually a HR22 with HD disabled

The R22 is really an HR21; the only difference is that it is software-limited to standard-def. All of the other features from the HR2x series are available on it.
You obviously have a Slimline dish, so what you need to determine is the LNB type that's on it.

This is the SL5 (Slimline 5-LNB pack).

This is the SL3 (Slimline 3-LNB pack). [Okay, this is actually a picture of the SL3-S, which is the SWM version of the SL3]
In both cases, the "centered" feedhorn is actually 3 feedhorns combined, which pick up the sats at 99/101/103. The SL5 has 2 additional feedhorns off to one side for the LNBs that pick up the sats at 110 and 119.

Ok it is the 5lnb pack but when I pick that one I think it says all sats fail except 101 but I will have to rerun it to make sure. Thanks

You don't really need anything but 101 on the SD DVRs.

So it shows
99 No signal
101 Odd only
110 Even only
119 Both good
Is that ok?

You might want to re-run sat setup and choose the basic 1-LNB "round" dish. Also, press the red reset button behind the access card door, and as soon as the first "Hello, welcome to DirecTV..." screen comes up, type "02468" on the remote. This should force a software download. You need to see both odd and evens on 101.

No, far from it. The other IRD in your systems works?
