I've read that Disney has had pressures with its theme parks, cruise lines, retail chain, ABC Network, etc.
Should Disney sell ABC to someone with more expertise?
They are planning on selling their retail chain this way (and will let the independent businesses to follow to just pay Disney a royalty.
My thought would be Hearst Argyle (that already shares some cable networks with Disney) should acquire ABC, the stations, SoapNet, ABC Family. I'm not sure about ESPN and Disney Channel. ESPN could be sold off(??) or kept, and Disney Channel used as apremium service (maybe Starz! or Time Warner would take operation of it, just paying Disney a small royalty for the use of the name).
Pax has quietly put its stations now on the selling block, and is waiting for the June 2 FCC vote.
