All,
We had a pretty strong wind & rain storm this afternoon in Charlotte, NC.
When I got home, I noticed that I was not getting all of my Dish channels. Before I go any further, here is my setup:
I have a Dish 5000, which was installed about 2 months ago. It is the one with the large horn (double?). It allows me to have 4 TV's in my home each receive a unique signal. It is not routed through a switchbox. The installer hooked it up to my cable box. So I know this is not a switchbox problem.
Anyway, back to the problem: On 2 of my sets I am getting all the channels I always have. The signal strength on those is about 120 or so accessing 119 West satellite. The problem is on the other 2 sets in the house. They are only getting about a 50-55 signal strength accessing the 119 West.
How can 2 of the sets be showing a strong signal with no channel loss and 2 of the sets show a weak signal with half the channels not accessible.
Is it possible that 1 of the 2 portions of the "horn" is now misalined, or something has come loose.
Before I have the local Dish folks come out and ring me up for a service charge, I figured maybe I could fix it.
