I'm in the process of remodelling my basement this weekend, and decided this was the perfect time to swap out my legacy lnbs and switch to dishpro. So, today I changed out the lnbs and added the DP34 switch. Results are about 5 points higher signal on all 3 satellites that I look at. I was a little concerned that I might have to repeak the dishes due to the swapping of the lnbs, but I don't need to. Pretty quick and easy!

Yeah, I know...but I'm still holding out hope that I won't need dishpro plus. And even if I do, it'll just mean replacing the DP34 with the DPP44 switch.

I just upgraded a couple months ago myself, looks like when we get superDISH I'll have to upgrade to the DPP 44.........

Not that I'm a total noob, but I guess I am. :)

I am confused about all this "new" Dish technology. I currently have a Dish500 w/ an old 3000 reciever. I want to add a PVR 721, but should I be thinking of upgrading to DishPro? Is there a site somewhere I can find out about what would work best for me? (maybe this site?) Thanks in advance!

TikiHead,

Look over the "Dish Pro Plus" hardware from the www.dishretailer.com 2003 Sumit report. The coolest thing about DishPro+ is that you can more easily run cables, and if you get a 721, you'll be able to diplex (split) the two feeds from a single cable for your duel tuners.

Cyclone,
Thanks for the link, I understand the "plus" is not available yet right? Should I wait and "upgrade" my whole system? Any time frame on when this is due out?

The "plus" line will probably be out around the same time as the superdish, which won't be out until this fall at the earliest, and probably more realistically around the end of the year.
