When someone moves do they have to call in to tell them the change of address before getting the dish mover's promotion? The reason I ask is if someone calls in with the new address and later says they want the dish mover's program, would they say that they are just trying to get another dish for nothing and should have said that at the time they called in with the new address? Should I have the address change called in then go forth with the promotion or call in with the promotion while giving the address change? Is there a time restriction on this? With the way Dish is on things, if you do one little thing wrong you dont get paid and they express no grief over it.

If you're planning on "moving", you may not want to use Dishmover at all...

Dish would like at least two weeks notice to set up the move so they can ship the new dish if necessary.

Indeed -- if you are moving to a completely new address with a new phone number (and want to considered yourself a "new customer" at that new location -- which is a moral question for yourself, I guess) -- then there are better options than DishMover.

The DishMover really isn't that great of a deal depending on your other options.

Your problem that you will experience is you will have to wait until you have the new phone number to get the installation appointment. If you try to arrange it before then you will have to provide a contact number which the account will be set up under.

I suppose that you can always call them and give them a new address and a moving date and get everything scheduled. Don't do this from your home phone because the phone system recognizes your number and will pull up your account.

If you don't want to put up with all of the hassles Dish Mover is only $75 but you won't get any extras such as programming freebies or discounts. You also won't get any new receivers, etc.

I just called DISH Monday about needing to use the DISH MOVER PROGRAM and they told me it cost $100. It's $75 if you agree to sign up for Credit Card auto-pay. It's FREE if you agree to the TOP 100 for 12 months. I ended up with a DISH install on Wed. morning (less than 48 hours) and nothing was asked about a new phone # at the new house.

The only problem I had was that I wanted to make sure that the second dish (for locals) was installed at the same time. They first told me that this has to be done on another visit because there's wasn't apparently enough time to install a second dish. I told I would for get the whole thing if the installer was only going to install one dish. After being on hold for a while I finally got to talking to another operator and after doing a conference call with someone else it, she got everything setup as I asked - 2 dish install for Wed. morning.

I think they were going make me wait 2-3 weeks for 2nd dish install and after spending $100 for the DISH MOVER. I know I could install the dish myself from my previous home, but when your moving and it's very HOT outside, this is something I'm not mood to do.
