I often send out links to web pages through the right-click>send link function using Firefox. I use Outlook as my email client, but often I don't launch it before sending these links.

Here is my issue... When sending a link through Firefox, I get the proper window to create the email, but if Outlook hasn't been launched, the email will sit in the Out-box.

Can I set up Outlook to send these emails without having to launch the application?

TIA for anyone who can help with this.

There is an option in one of the settings screens to tell Outlook to send email immediately. Is that checked? Which version of Outlook are you using? The location of that option varies with the versions.

I'm using Outlook 2003. The setting I found was send immediately when connected. See attachment.

I don't believe that setting will make a difference with the problem you're reporting.
I've always had that option checked and I still need to start Outlook before the message will leave the Outbox.

I've just become accustomed to working around it and either start a new message and paste the URL, or if it's a long one, convert it with tinyurl.com and then send it that way.
