I have a real strange one for the books. I just received a new notebook, a Dell Precision M4400. If I use the laptop while the on AC, my local HD channels via D* and OTA drop out and some of the HD channels like Comedy Central. I have not had the time to see what other channels are interfered with.
Unplug the laptop from the AC adapter, the interference goes away. This happens on any AC outlet in the house, my media room is on a separate 20 amp circuit.
Power off the PC with he adapter plugged in and charging and the interference stops. Turn on the laptop, lose the channels.

I have never seen interference this specific before, its usually all or none.

The AC adaptor must be leaking ground or something on to the power lines.
It happens often where people see interference when a certain appliance gets turned on.

It sounds like a bad/faulty power supply adapter on the laptop to me aswell.

If you happen to have a UPS backup power suplpy/conditioner, you can try plugging the laptop into it andf see idf the problem persists or infact goes away altogether. If the symptom goes away; then you know for a fact it is indeed the laptops power supply that is the issue and needs to be changed out.

For the laptop to effect the satellite receiver when plugged into a different room on a totally different circuit breaker; this is a potentially HUGE issue for more then just your Satellite receiver.
