Hi, Quick Question for anyone who has the correct answer. My parents have one 501 and one 301 on the At 150 DHP. They have almost been signed up for a year now and they want to buy one of my 501's since i am not on Dish anymore, and they would like to take the 301 off and put on the one they got from me. I called Dish to do this and they say i cant, said they would have to have three receivers active to do it. Parents dont want three receivers, just two pvrs. i dont see what the difference is as long as they keep two receivers active since thats what they got when signed up. Anyone with any ideas?

The CSR is wrong. I'm a DHP sub. I recently had three 301s a one 501. I purchased a 508. I called Dish. They removed one 301 from my account. I sent it back to them. All is well ...

You may have to wait until the year is officially up until they remove the 301.

You must complete the contract first then they can return the 301 and have only the two receivers on the account. This saves the $240 penalty fee they would be charged if they cancel the two receivers they have under the contract.

Your parents can add your 501 to their account for $5/mo as a third receiver now. They must keep the 301 active on the account until they complete the contract. Nobody said they have to actually be using the receiver it just has to stay active on the account.

HI Guys thaks for replying. The csr i talked to didnt seem like he knew what he was talking about. I tried explaining to him that once the year was up they should be able to do it and send back the 301 but he said no. I might just keep calling back until i get a csr that knows what they are talking about. Thanks for the help

I was a DHP subscriber and had similar issues. CSR roulette didn't work for me. I ended up cancelling the service, purchasing a 508 and a couple of used receivers then opening a new account. There was no deal for me to open the new account as I had already gotten one deal to start with Dish.

No problem for me returning a 301 once the contract was up.
