Hello,

I have 2 Director Pack recievers (GAEBOA model). Every once in a while when I try to use the remote, it will not work. The Sat button on the remote lights up, but the receiver doesn't do anything. It's not the batteries as I can turn the TV on and off with the same remote. The only thing I can think of is that the receiver is calling DTV at that moment. Does this sound feasible? This has happened on both my receivers. It doesn't happen often, but when it does happen, it lasts about 45-60 seconds.

Are you cutting power to your GAEB0A when you turn it off?

The only time I see hesitation when powering up is to load the guide.

Your modem is supposed to call out about once a month.

It's not just when I go to turn on the receiver. Sometimes I'll be watching and want to change the channel on the receiver and can't. After waiting a minute, I can then change the channel OK. During the same time when I can't change the receiver channel, I can change the TV channel or turn the TV off, so I don't think it's a battery issue. I thought the receiver had to call everyday.

right i have the same problem with my GCEB0A. i was watching tv, scrolling through the menus, and the reciever freezes up.and i could not turn it off or do anything with it.so i had to turn the power off at the surge protector(pull plug) and it rebooted.but it looses all its caller id records! im sorry but hughes directors packs are really garbage, however they do have some advantages over the RCA models, such as faster scrolling and guide zoom and a better looking guide overall. its just very bugy with no help in site !!!
