I'm sure that Dish has their hands full right now with the Albritton problem but I read somewhere that the Green Bay locals have shown up in the "hidden" (as they call it) guide of the Dishplayers on channels 9330-9336. I know some of these channels never materialize (HBO Zone, ThrillerMax, etc) but being that Green Bay is rumored to be coming by the end of 2Q 2003 (6/30) does anybody know about how long these locals have been popping up on the Dishplayer before they have made their official debut? For awhile there it looked like Dish was rolling out one new local a week (Jackson, Knoxville, Tallahassee) but they are going to miss a week here for sure because the next date would have been June 5 and aside from the Green Bay rumor I haven't heard of any other reports of locals being seen or heard from. Apparently the local Shreveport newspapers had mistakedly reported that their stations were already available. Oops.
Thanks.

Ed,
The Dishplayer hidden guide channels more often than not end coming to light. There are some exceptions, but when the channels pop up on there this means that they PLANNED the channels show up there. They told the listing service and they diligently added the channels on the day Dish said they would be there. But sometimes plans fall through. Baltimore locals were listed in the hidden guide for two years and they never came. But many channels were listed in the hidden guide for over a year and eventually made it. For the most part the hidden guide now does not show channels that arent there. The last time a city was listed before it was uplinked was Huntsville. The Dishplayer guide beat the uplink by a couple of weeks.
As to "rumors" that Green Bay is coming to Dish on Q2. It's not a rumor. It was announced on a Retailer Chat that GB was PLANNED---P L A N N E D-----for Q2 and the cities were announced to the public in a press release as coming by the end of 2003.

I changed program packages yesterday & and as I was re-doing my Favorite lists on 6000, G.B. channels showed up & then disappeared. Guess this means listings are in the system but not turned on yet. Must be getting close. I heard from reliable source, June 14 - 16th.

Well...the hidden guide is history now. :(
The new software loaded in the Dishplayers got rid of this "feature".

Well that's too bad.....
Still haven't heard of anybody hearing anything new about Green Bay but I suspect it won't be too long. How many locals do they still have planned for Q2? Green Bay, Shreveport, Little Rock & Anchorage?
