Okay I was just curious if this was a common error or glitch on the HD receivers as I've never seen it on my 625 that I had for four years. Ever since I got a 722 in February my cousin has been saying that he keeps seeing this smart card message on DVR recordings. I saw it for the first time a couple minutes ago when I was watching an episode of the Exterminators on A&E. The message doesn't force the video to go black and everything plays normally (except for the big dialog box covering up most of the screen) As I am pretty much subscribed to every channel available (excluding Latino & Adult & International channels) I know I shouldn't be seeing this message ;)

Have you called Dish? I had the same problem with my 622 until I called Dish. Even though they had sent me a new card, someone forgot to update my account information and didn't have the new card number in there. After the new card number was entered in my account the errors went away in about 5 minutes.

Yeah I called and they told me my 722 didn't need a new smart card, then they sent me a a second purple smartcard for my 625 (I upgraded to HD after they sent out the smart card to me the the first time) It showed my 722 on the smart card replacement sheet and said something like "No Smart Card Replacement Needed"

It would be more informative if you will post a number from upper right corner of the message and make a picture of it.
