HR22-100 0x2f6 & AcomData eSata

on 29 April I noticed all pre-recorded programs were gone form the ESata 1TB drive. It had been working since February.

The ToDo List was there, those schedules for what and when to record.
The channels I'd pushed into the newer function, Quick-Tune" were still there.

The afternoon prior to the O/S update to 0x2f6, I'd ordered an additional sports package for about USD13.

No other persons have access to the HR22-100. I have a fast UPS in the power-distribution system ... which has been tested in severe thunderstorms and the HR22 doesn't seem to notice there was an instant w/o power in the house.

Yet all pre-recorded programs for the past roughly ten days are missing.

During a reboot, if the HR checks the drive and sees errors it cant correct, it will re-format the drive. I'm not familiar at all with the particular eSATA drive you are using, its definitely an off brand. Have you tried connecting it up to a PC to see if something went south with the drive?

I'd first try to power everything down .. Check the eSATA cables, power on the eSATA .. wait about 15-20 seconds, then power on the DVR. It's possible that your system reverted to using the internal drive.

Thanks ... CCarncross, I'd seen the brand listed in a thred here, it worked, Seagate wasn't the bigie then, so i bought it ...don't mind buying a Seagate though if it fixes thr problem ... do not want to EVER see that dismal empty list of recorded programs again.
"H" Brot .. I did the reset stuff to verify I wasn't on the original, internal, HDD ... wasn't. ,,, I'd also rebooted onto the HDD of the HR22 just to make certain, the back onto the eSATA

My understanding is that uder certain heretofore undefiined conditions "some", or all, eSata drives may be totally reformatted.

Mine was not bothered except for the recorded stuff ... unless there is a special format-process for doing that ...I should think not.

I can rule out that I, or one of my dogs, deleted just the pre-recorded stuff. I can not account for a selective, non-interactive, delete.

I am disinclined to unplug the eSata and try it on the Mac as I, once again, have built up some recorded things, it's Stanley-Cup payoffs too ....and another wipe-out could wind up in catapult launch of HR22 by Roman friend named Marcus.

As far as eSATAs, the ones that I've been recommending are the WD "My DVR" series or the Seagate "Showcase" series.
