newbie question

Please forgive me if this question has appeared before; I searched before I posted this.

I have THREE DirecTV HR21-700 units with software version 0x2f5.

I want to reach the hidden "IAMANEDGECUTTER" menu and have seen the instructions as to type in IAMANEDGECUTTER into the search menu and go from there.

My problem is, I don't find a "search" option when I hit the menu button or on any submenus from there.

What am I missing?

There won't be any menu's coming up. On top of that those words mainly work with CE releases not with NR.

[MENU] should show "Search for Shows" right below My Playlist & On Demand. Then select "Keyword".

The search feature can be found in the menu, search for shows and choose search by keyword. Mertzen is correct in that "IAMANEDGECUTTER" will only work with beta software which you don't have. To learn more about his reference to the "CE", cutting edge, do a search and you can find out more about the program.
