OK over all question do a certain model H Series receiver have an issue seeing one of the Sats(not sure which one)?

I have a coworker who was upgrading to an HD receiver. The installer came out and installed the dish(not sure which one) on his roof. Claimed he was having an issue with the receiver seeing one of the sats so he moved the Dish to a pole mount and was still having the same issue.

Claimed it was a problem with the recevier and like over 30K+ of that model and told him that they would be receiving more receiver later in the week and left. Was suppose to come back with cement but never did and never called.

Now while I don't have the H Series I have not heard of any issue this large especially with not being able to see one of the satellites.

To me it sounds more like an issue with the LNB on the Dish maybe or just a poor alignment job.

Can anybody help me help my coworker have a better experience the next time this guy comes out? That is if he does I have not heard of a second appt scheduled from him.

And sorry I don't have more specific info. This is all I got from him.

Thanks
Dave

Not much real information to go on there ....

Never heard of "known issue" where HD Receivers can't see a satellite. Forward this template to your friend and let's see what's really "missing".

Please post back with your signal readings for each satellite's transponders (and both tuners if applicable). You'll find these readings under "Menu" -> "Setup" -> "System Setup" -> Satellite -> "View Signal Strength".

Fill in your readings for each satellite and tuner using these examples. A properly aligned dish will show 80-90s on most of the relevant transponders (although some will be low or zero):

Litzdog,
Would love to post those reading but the installer took the receiver with him.

Thanks anyways

Grab your own receiver and walk to his house, then check signal on all sats.

Not that easy, he is a coworker not a neighbor.

Run a bike or skateboard :).

OT but; make sure the tech sealed up whatever holes he made in the roof.

Thanks for the reminder Mertzen.
