Just got a H23-600 to replace a H20 that quit working. Did I read somewhere that you could use media share on this box it has the Ethernet on the back but nothing in setting, does that come up after plugging a cable in?

If you have a wired or wireless (wireless requires appropriate equipment available from DTV) network to your computer and appropriate software on your computer, the DVR will see it and you can play your music, pictures and maybe video on your TV. There is lots of info on setting this up in other parts of the forum.

?Am I out of the loop? I thought Media Share was only available on HR2* DVR's?

Not yet, there "will be" new software coming that will add this feature, but it's not a national release yet.

Oh okay! To the OP, you aren't doing anything wrong at least! It's not available on the HD receivers yet.

You do just realize by getting the new receiver, you just signed up for 2 more years, right?

What I was told is, you receive a new receiver for any reason, the system automaticlaly re-ups the 2 yr commit.

Adding a new receiver restarts the clock. "Replacing" a leased receiver doesn't [though it may take a phone call or two to straighten this out].

This was a receiver that I purchased myself. According to the CSR I was not renewing my contract have the protection plan. True or false?

Replaced for a technical problem with PP no agreement. Purchased on your own then yes there's an agreement and by purchase you mean lease unless you're talking about your old receiver and it was before 3/06.

Bought it for around $200 when the H20 first came out from Circuit City there was some sort of rebate involved also. It also quit working the tech put in the new box
