I love the colored buttons on it. Should I move to a Harmony One and will I get soft-touchscreen colored buttons on it that way?

My Harmony 880 is sadly not too far behind. It still works great despite the chipped paint on the buttons, but charging it is an exercise in frustration.
I really think the Acoustic Research XSight will be a better remote than the One but it seems terminally delayed.
I've demoed the One and yes, you get soft buttons that way. The One is good and all but just like the 880 lacks hard buttons for {LIST} and colors. If you're willing to do without those, I think a refurbed 880 would be a better choice for you while you're waiting for something better to come along.
Based on their showing at CES, Logitech is not planning to hold leadership in the premium remote segment for very long.

My 620 recently took a dump too (screen no longer works). I can use it, but can't access any of the additional commands I had on the screen which makes things difficult and as a result I have to keep all the other remotes handy.
I want to replace it, but I'm waiting. The AR that Stuart mentioned might be released soon, and I've also heard that Harmony is coming out with 2 or 3 new remotes this summer that supposedly have the colored buttons on them.
I'm gonna be patient for now.

If it is just a screen or something, I have a 895 that I bought to try and use the top plate on my 890 but it is made different. I was told it has been deactivated but the screen works perfect...I think the ir is out. Michael

My 670 is holding up, although the letters are starting to wear off

I've demoed the One and yes, you get soft buttons that way.I am not a fan of the soft buttons. I have an 880 and a 659 and like the 880 button feel better.
I weigh down my 880 in the cradle to save the exercise. ;)

I have the Harmony One and would highly recommend it. Yes, you will get soft-touchscreen colored buttons. On the screen, there are graphics of 4 round buttons: colored red, green, yellow, and blue. The name red, green, yellow, or blue is also on the button. There are 6 soft/touchscreen buttons on each page. On my first page I have the color buttons, list and active.
This is a great remote. I upgraded from a 659.
