Okay, the second of the fun polls. If you watched the episode, you would know the answer. If you like, you can post why you would have taken the detour.

Pathway looks to have been the faster route. The gondola's were pretty slow compared to someone walking at a brisk pace. Both routes had dead ends to worry about.

Now if they had a powerboat race such as that seen in The Italian Job that would be a different story. ;)

A lot of folks were commenting on how the water route let them see the city. Its interesting to see which folks are in the race to win, and which are in it to just travel.
