Okay, I am new to this forum.  I recently came back to E* after a two year hiatus with digital cable.  I currently have four DP301's and a Quad LNB.  I read somewhere that E* will allow up to 5 receivers per account.  My questions is how can I add the fifth receiver without putting up an additional Dish?

Actually I think they will allow up to 6 receivers per account. You can get 2 DP34 switches and daisychain them together (I believe that allows you to connect up to 8 receivers). However you will need the new DishPro LNBFs. I don't think the legacy LNB's will work with the DP34 switch.

OR

you can get 1 DP34 switch (they are pretty expensive) for the first 4 receivers. And you can run another line straight to the fifth one. That'll save you having to buy another DP34.

With a DP Quad you can run 6 receivers with 1 DP-34 switch. On the Quad look for A black DP on the side away from the dish, if you have it it is a DISH PRO. From the equipment you have you probably will have a DP Quad.

Okay, you've got my interest. I do in fact have the DP Quad. I really love the DP system much better than Legacy. If Dish did not go with DP, I would not have come back.

Okay, what would the DP34 look like hooked up to the quad. I think that you have come up with the solution, however, I am trying to visualize how this would connect.

Thank you in advance for your input/devine wisdom!!

Rocco,

Using one DP Quad LNBF to a single DP34 switch you could have a total of six receivers. Outputs 1 and 2 from DP Quad LNBF go to DP34 switch giving four outputs FROM DP34 switch to receivers 1-4, leaving outputs 3 and 4 from DP Quad LNBF available to receivers 5 and 6. I have a DP Quad LNBF going to two PVR721's.

The DP34 Switch would also accept input from an additional Dish pointed at 61.5 or 148 if you needed it and would send signal from three orbital locations to the DP34 connected receivers.

I hope this helps.

Thanks I think I see how this works. Two coax's are run from the DP Quad LNB for 110 and 119. The DP34 takes these two feeds and creates 4 receiver hookups. I guess I can also add an additional sat if I feel like putting one up. Don't think that I'll do so at this time as HDTV is a little rich for my blood. Thanks to everyone who provided input. I think that I am ready to order a DP34 to run a fifth receiver to my daughters room.
