That's not much info. What is it doing exactly?

It'll be fine for about 10 minutes after resetting it then the picture sound and even the menus will freeze

Do you have to reset it everytime it freezes?

Most likely it is a bad unit. There were problems with the HR21 pro. How long have you had it?

Yep, you got a lemon. There have been software releases that caused occasional lockups, like once or twice a week, but anything this bad would have thousands of posts within hours of its release.

The HR21 pro was notorious for lock-ups/ freeze-ups, reboots, and overheating. There was a recall on the first run of units. Even after the recall there was still reports of issues with them.

Hmmm, thats odd, I've got two of them and have had zero issues with them. I rarely see a post on here about HR21 Pro problems, unless I'm missing them somewhere. I don't hang on here all the time:)

That's because all of the posts were way before you joined:)

FWIIW: Firmware updates have never fixed my (HR21) freezing/lockup problems.

Okay, well I guess all the bugs are out of them now anyway.....

could be a lemon, but right now a lot the dtv HD DVR's are having similar problems since the last software update (which you may have).

Right now "A lot of the dtv HD DVR's ARE NOT having similar problems". If you have been reading the forums for a while you would know that when "a lot" are having problems there are many, many posts. A few months ago there was an update that cause a very visible problem. I don't recall the exact problem, it may have been frequent lockups. There were at least a dozen thread in three forums created within minutes and hundreds if not thousands of posts in less than an hour. D* had a new software version within 48 hours and pushed it during the day.

There are also very few HR21P's out there compared to the other models. Any many of them are in high-end installs where a CI deals with problems.
