View Full Version : Wireless Router with Several Access Points
I am in the process of upgrading my system to be ready of MRV. The question I have is if I add a N router, with one N access point, and one G access point, what will the wireless operate at? G or N?
I would like to keep the G access point because it has a built in print server.
Thanks.

It is possible to have both an "N" and a "G" access point on your network. You need to make sure they are using different channels, and you need to lock the "N" AP into "N-Only" mode. Clients below "N" will not be able to connect to it, and will have to connect to the "G" AP, in either G or B mode. That prevents your N router/network from being slowed to G (or even B) speeds.
