Coming back are dramas "Cold Case" and "Numbers" and comedies "The New Adventures of Old Christine," "Rules of Engagement" and "Gary Unmarried."

Not being renewed are veterans "Without a Trace" and "The Unit" and freshman "11th Hour."

The quintet will join a returning class that includes "48 Hours Mystery," "60 Minutes," "Criminal Minds," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "CSI: Miami," "CSI: NY," "Ghost Whisperer," "How I Met Your Mother," "The Mentalist" and "NCIS."

Earlier this year, CBS gave additional seasons to "The Amazing Race," "The Big Bang Theory," "Survivor" and "Two and a Half Men."

I'd rather see "Without a Trace" stay and "CSI: Miami" disappear.

Interesting... I didn't think tonight's episode of Without a Trace was being positioned as a Series finale.

Wonder if this was a last minute decision.

I also wonder if we'll ever see more "Trace" seasons on DVD. I have seasons 1-2, but that's it.

I know music rights have been holding Cold Case in limbo, probably will do so for the long haul unfortunately.

11th hour doesn't really come as a surprise.

I love Cold Case.I'm glad it's coming back. It's one of the few shows that I actually enjoy these days.CSI Miami has really been going down hill lately. All these personal issues the team has with exs, fathers etc has been bringing that show down.I'm sort of surprised that wasn't axed !

Paging CSI: Miami - There is a phone call from Bruce. Said that he was having you for dinner.

I gave up on Without a Trace the season where Sam got preggers after the anonnymous one night stand. There were also some odd stories about her background (murder! cover-up!) that just made me lose interest. I liked when it was about the cases and there was not that much about the lives of the agents, but the balance started tipping and my interest waned. Did it ever go back to the original format, pushing the agents' lives deep into the background?

I thought this season represented a "comeback" of sorts for Without A Trace, but I guess the viewer numbers didn't reflect that. The writers must have had an idea they might not get renewed. There were a couple of scenes at the end of this week's "season finale" that were also appropriate for a "series finale", including a quick montage of past victims faces tacked to the board in the squad room. :) /steve

I wasn't sure if these were victims that were found alive or not. I pick alive.
This is one of my must see/record SL shows. Really am sorry to see it go.:(

All these shows seem to blur together... Trace, Cold Case, CSI, NCIS, etc, etc. This quote from the classic movie NETWORK comes to mind:

These are those four outlines submitted by Universal for an hour series. You needn't bother to read them; I'll tell them to you. The first one is set at a large Eastern law school, presumably Harvard. The series is irresistibly entitled "The New Lawyers." The running characters are a crusty-but-benign ex-Supreme Court justice, presumably Oliver Wendell Holmes by way of Dr. Zorba; there's a beautiful girl graduate student; and the local district attorney who is brilliant and sometimes cuts corners. The second one is called "The Amazon Squad." The running characters include a crusty-but-benign police lieutenant who's always getting heat from the commissioner; a hard-nosed, hard-drinking detective who thinks women belong in the kitchen; and the brilliant and beautiful young girl cop who's fighting the feminist battle on the force. Up next is another one of those investigative reporter shows. A crusty-but-benign managing editor who's always gett...
