Not sure what's going on but i have decent signals (mostly 70's, low 80's) on my local sat (i believe 99) but all my locals in phx are breaking up, been going on since last week.
SWM and a bunch of DVRs, tried resetting everything, nothing helps.
I blame the damn dirty heat! Any suggestions?
I live up in Flagstaff and I'm having the same problem with the Phoenix locals and all my numbers look good also. My sister called me tonight with the same problem and she also lives here in Flagstaff..........so it isn't the heat.....sounds like we are dealing with a uplink problem.....

Alright, while it doesn't help my picture it's good to know it's not my setup, :) not sure why that makes me feel better but it does
Anyone we should notify ?
I just had D* out yesterday to correct a pixelization problem, which I saw almost exclusively on national channels. Since he left, I haven't seen any problems nationally, but started noticing the problem on the local channels yesterday evening. I was beginning to think that he exchanged one problem for another, but after seeing this thread, maybe not.
I'm also hearing a lot of burps in the audio along with the pixelization. Are you guys hearing that also?
Yep video and audio....not always together, one time audio, next time video and then it can happen both together. It was really hard to watch Hell's Kitchen last week because of it.
I guess we could call Directv, but I'm not sure it would do any good. It seems to be happening on all HD local's but not analog from what I'm seeing.
One morning last week the locals were totally out, with the message on the screen from D* saying they were aware of the problem. I just wonder if there is a connection between that problem and what were seeing now. If the problem doesn't get resolved in the next day or two I will be calling D* for sure.

what do i need to do to get OTA working right? Just hook an antenna to the back of the TV??

Depends on wht equipment you have, if TV has built in HDTV tuner,, if you want to record OTA.
I record everything which means the antenna needs to be hooked up to my DVR. I have the HR20 DVR which includes a bulit in OTA tuner so I just hooked up the OTA antenna (Phillips Silver Sensor) to the DVR and I'm good to go. I believe all of the other HDDVR's dont have built in OTA and require the use of the AM21 add-on ($60) to enable them to receive and record OTA.
us up North of course can't get OTA so we have to rely completely on Directv, hopefully they fix it soon, if not at least the Tv season is pretty much over for the next few months.

Same problem here. Noticed it for the last week. Watching Lie to Me on Fox the other day was nearly impossible. Audio dropouts and pixelization was ridiculously bad.
We noticed a lot of glitches last night both the R15 and HR20 on channel 7 (AZTV). The R15 wasn't pixelization and brrping, but was just the picture jumping.

Can we get this thread combined with the other one?
Yeah, I'm seeing the same issues too here.
FOX has been terrible so far this week in Los Angeles! Both 24 and AI were constantly dropping out, often for over 10 seconds!!

Yep my recording of 24 is what inspired me to create this rogue thread :( very upset at that
Getting breakups here also, with audio burrrrps, and green screen. The coolest one yet was last night when my wife had me take a look at the wildest pink magenta and pastel posterized picture. It looked like an ailein had taken over the broadcast.
Called the CSR last night and she said the whole Phoenix area had problems with the local broadcasts. For it to affect all of the local stations, it has to be some common point and my guesss it is at their local realy point or at DTV's uplink center.
