Hi... I have two units on the same phone number. My new one (model # 52 200?) just installed, seems to work OK, so far. The other one, an older model (H15?) does most things right except caller ID. It will work for a while and then not work. Nothing changes as far as I can tell. I have turned it off and then on, sometimes overnight..doesn't help. DirecTV seemly has one answer for all problems... turn unit off, unplug, start again....
Problem #2 may be only on my local CBS station. About 1 or 2 minutes into a new show, it blacks out, no audio for about 10-15 seconds. Anyone else see this, especially in central Ohio WBNS-TV, channel 10?
Thanks for any and all help. Jack:(

Jack,
Telephones are strange animals. Caller ID is stange too. There are standards in place that not all phone companies comply with.
I haven't had caller ID on my boxes since I switched to VOIP and I don't even miss it.

I can't offer anything on the Caller ID problem as I don't see a need to have it on my TV. I have it on the cordless handsets.
For the CBS problem, have you called your local station to see if they know about this?
Take another guess on the models for your receivers neither is correct.

Take a look at the Brrrrip thread (last 3 pages) - several of us are having the CBS issue, one in VA, I'm in MD.

One thing about callerid and phones, if you have a lot of phones on your house, the signal can get too weak to register correctly. The typical home is only provided enough voltage over the phone line to power about 4 phones, and that is provided your internal wiring is in good shape, no shorts etc...disconnect a phone or two in rooms you don't use very often and see if the caller id becomes more reliable, then you might be able to track down the source of your issues.
