In another thread Scott G wrote something that caught my attention. He wrote; "I must admit it, I at times have become upset at the way Charlie runs his company, but my anger usually turns to joy within a few weeks when Charlie makes an announcement to ease my anger."
This to me is a very honest statement and made me look at the posts here in a little different way. We do not look at Dish the same way as we or others look at cable, Direct TV, or most other companies. I think we are treating Dish almost as a friend or member of the family. Maybe because of the Charlie Chats, or that Dish tends to answer emails sent to the Chairman's office we feel a little closer to Dish and therefore expect more. When I see "He had better do this or that" in a post it reinforces my theory. In recent weeks the posts IMHO are unrealistic. The more good things that are about to happen for DBS and Dish, the more the complaints and finding fault with every announcement. I don't deny Dish does sometimes announce things and then it takes months to happen, but in general Dish is still the leader and looks like it will continue to be at least in the near future. Remember, it is easy to spend money, buy programming and run at a deficit as Direct TV has been doing. Dish has done quite well considering they do not blindly spend. And it could be argued no one has been on the viewer's side more than Uncle Charlie. Uh, Charlie.
