I figured this might be of interest to some here.

I am in Tennessee, and do not have to the Chater/Comcast run CSS Sports station. Here is a link to Verizon writing to the FCC asking for cable companies to open up access:

LINK: Verizon Weights In On RSN Access (http://www.multichannel.com/article/277372-Verizon_Weighs_In_On_RSN_Access.php) (This was found on DSLReports.com)

Looking to strike while the iron is hot, Verizon wrote the Federal Communications Commission's commissioners Thursday renewing its call for action to "prevent cable incumbents from denying competitive video providers access to cable-affiliated regional sports networks."
The company made the pitch in a letter to the three commissioners regarding the agency's ongoing review of program access rules, access complaint process, and program-tying arrangements.

DirecTv desperately needs CSS just as they need Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia. This channel Carries Some SEC Football games in the fall. I know for a fact because a neighbor of mine who has cable only at his home receives this channel and I have been over to his home to watch an SEC game last year that DirecTv did not carry. CSS Also has a re-transmission agreement to carry some Atlanta Braves Peachtree TV games that are in HD when on DirecTv we can only get the Standard Definition version of the game. I know this for a fact because my neighbor gets it on his local Cable. The Local Cable Company in my town is You Guessed it....Comcast.

Power to Verizon, but I'd be very surprised if the FCC took any action about cable-owned RSNs and non-cable providers.
