I had a HD dvr for the family room and a HD box for the master. The master's showing the right zip code and time. The HD dvr, under info, is showing the zip code as 00000 and even when I select the right time zone and daylight savings time, it is sitll an hour behind. How do I update the right zip code and what's wrong with the time?

Don't worry about the ZIP code, it is of no importance for time/programming/locals.

For the time:
Parental, Fav's & setup>System Setup>display>clock

That zip code setting has nothing to do with the time. It's just to provide the installer with the correct dish aiming coordinates, which most don't need, so they set it something easy like 00000.

Resetting your DVR should reset the clock .... red button behind front panel access card door.

Nah, with the new satellite setup on the HD DVRs it doesn't get asked like it used to. It is hidden in the dish pointing option.

okay, Thanks. What about this other issue I have? I hooked up an ehternet cable and the dvr pics it up as I'm able to stream pictures from my laptop. However, when I bring up on demand, no listings shows up for any items, only a short video on how to use on demand. am I missing something?

It can take up to 24 hours for on demand to fully populate. But redo the network setup and see if you get a 'successful connection to the internet' confirmation
