I found this on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/LNB-ASSEMBLY-4-SLIMLINE-SL3PIG-P-HIGH-DEF-DIRECTV-DISH_W0QQitemZ120421639834QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_De faultDomain_0?hash=item1c09b0669a&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A4|65%3A15|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0 |293%3A2|294%3A200

Does this really work? If I'm understanding this auction this means I can replace my faulty factory LNB's on my phase-3 dish and receive all the new HD programming and locals as a slimline does? Would it also get the SD programming?

You can use it on the Phase 3 and it will work but:
It is NOT supported, endorsed, approved at all by D*
Do not call a CSR and expect them to know about it or help you
Do not expect a tech to know about it or touch it.
Expect faster rain fade
Expect trouble aligning it
Know that you are running an experimental setup

The seller's statement is very bold.

How hard was it to align? I've installed quite a few dishes now successfully but nothing with aftermarket/custom equipment.

About 15-20 minutes. First with meter then with IRD on lowest xponder on 103c.
Low 90s and mid 80s. But don't expect it to hold as well as a slimline would in inclement weather.

This is just for my cottage and only used 3 months a year at most. This will be a nice edition to the new LED HD TV.

Thanks for the info!

In that case, go for it. And do report back.:)
