Well I bet things are happy tonight in Colorado! This was a major victory for Dish.

Are you guys reading the same press release as I am?

Dish Network is forced to requalify all of their distant locals subscribers!

They were facing the treat of not being able to offer distants or even maybe LIL. Now they just have to run all the distant's people address through the computer. Yes some might get cut off, but those that do, there a great chance they will have LIL available anyways. The subs will not be able to do anything about it because no other provider will be able to offer them distants either.

It's a matter of time before I lose my NBC now. :( When I moved, my address qualified for all four. But about a year ago it mysteriously was able to pick up NBC in a grade B signal. I'm going to have to find a new vacation home.

See ya

I have heard/read nothing about the RV exemption being affected by the recent ruling. That option may be the only one left for the majority of people who receive LIL and get distant nets...

The two are not, in ANY way related. If you qualify for distants, having or not having the LIL available has no bearing. And if you get the RV exemption you cannot get any LIL unless of course your LIL is one of the distants being offered. You could I suppose open a second account(RV) and just get the distants + fee for not having a package, and use a second receiver.

Does anyone know about CBS-HD?? for someone who had a nice waiver from local CBS for east/west and HD ... and locals are now up (Roanoke)? I've heard that the rules are separate for each case and that I won't lose HD, or east/west for that matter, but some much has happened lately. Especially now since their web page that verifies my address/eligibility NOW has networks CROSSED OUT.

If you already have a waiver you should be ok, it is only those with distant nets without waivers that could be in danger of losing them.
