I am trying to figure out if I have an issue with the signals, an issue somewhere else, or an issue with paranoia. I seem to get 771 errors on Sat 2 a lot more than Sat 1 when it rains hard. Is there something here that I should be concerned with or is it just the old "oh tuner 2 always reports lower" kind of thing? HR22-100 is what I have.

Looks good. 99 and 103º could maybe be just a touch higher, but you should fine.

Are you currently having any issues?

Are you currently having any issues?Only issue really is rain fade in which Satellite 2 will go out with a 771 way before Satellite 1 will. It has to rain A LOT harder for it to go out on both. A moderate shower (think wipers on low) will take out sat 2. A heavy shower (think wipers on high) will take out both. It has been like this since it was installed. It was installed on a rather cloudy day if that makes any difference.

The most recent example would be difficult to explain without going into that cutting thing. ;)

You're a touch off. But D* won't come out unless you have rain fade issues.

Honestly they look pretty darn good. Better than I have seen a lot of installers leave them.

I've seen the videos and imagine I could do it but I don't have a meter like they use these days. I'd probably wait for a crystal clear day.

As well as when he installed it, he had to do something with the cabling to get it to activate. I can't remember if it was swapping BBCs or something else.

have you tried swapping lines to see if weaker signals follow to tuner 1?

have you tried swapping lines to see if weaker signals follow to tuner 1?Have not but will. I know all cabling is brand new as of April. Will post what I find once that is done.

EDIT:
Swapped cables but not BBCs. No significant change in signal differences between 1 and 2.
Swapped BBCs and Tuner 2 still shows lower.

I need to clarify something before I go much further with this.

Just a quick question regarding initial setup when installing. When an installer runs the satellite setup, what has to be checked in order for install to be activated? What can be X'd out, what has to be checked?

A few months back when trying to activate certain HD equiptment it would automatically fail. you would either have to get a SWM splitter and put it behind the receiver or a 50 ft jumper. The extra attenuation would get you thru the activation , then you remove it, and then everything would be normal. A software update fixed that problem and you dont have to do that anymore. Maybe thats what you are talking about.

Here's some more info. Running guided setup results in the following:
X's present on 99 even, 103 odd and even.

Swap BBC's:
X's appear on 101 even and 103 odd and even.

I am not sure why this is or if it is relevant. I remember when installed the X's were present but I cannot remember where. This is when the tech put a cable from the dish to the receiver and it was able to activate. There is one other possibility but I want to find out if this even makes sense as it is.
