So , how often? And what inspires you to change it?

For those that don't know what this is, when you are in your playlist, press the yellow button, and then select Change Order of PLaylist, and you will see you can actually change the way your playlist orders itself.

About the only time I change it is when I am searching for a single recording (not one from a folder group) and I know it is not recent, and it begins alphabetically with something close to the beginning or the end of the alphabet. Otherwise it's pot luck (surf 'til you see it). So, 10-15% of the time or so.

I would use it much more often (ahem!) if the programmers were savvy enough to understand that when we search alphabetically, we still want the titles of the eps in the folder to remain chronological, so we can easily locate the oldest ep of serial-based programs. Searching ep titles by alpha in folders makes no real sense.

Oddly, I always used alpha on Tivo, but maybe that's because they still kept titles inside the folders chronological.

Come on, guys, just a few lines of code! :) Steal from the best, no one's watching anymore.

I leave mine sorted chronologically, all the time. I haven't changed it, ever, I don't think!

It takes longer to change the sort order than it does to page down to the bottom of the playlist and since I watch shows chronologically, even though I know about it and tried all the different sort orders when I got my 1st HR2o, I never change it.

I use it rarely, maybe two or three times a year.

I don't find it that difficult to scroll up and down to whatever I want to watch.

Don't use it much, maybe a handful since I've had the HR20 (~1.5 yrs).

It's chronological. We know when things are recorded so reordering isn't necessary...for us anyway. :)

BTW, If you're gonna quote me in your Sig there's a capital "B" in Beta. !rolling

Great another thing i didn't know how to do, i try it out when we get back.
Ok just got back and took it for a test drive ,trying to sort by movies it sorts 1080p movies i don't have in my playlist.
It must be another way directv is trying to get me to buy something i don't want.

I'm used to the chronological sort and only tried other options when they first came out. I don't keep that many programs permanently, so tend to try to watch and delete the most recent ones. Not an important feature to me.

I default my playlist A-Z. However, within a group the sort order should be chronological (by first aired date). Since it isn't, I sometimes need to temporarily sort chronologically to find the right show to watch within a single group.

I put down I never use it, since I've made the default sort by date (old) and just keep it there.

1-2 times a month

I am picky and want some shows to be higher during times of the year, etc.....

Changed once or twice in the last 6 months when I wanted to temporarily switch form Date (New) to A-Z so I could look for something.

Prefer the default. Never used the feature.

How did you make that change?
