I have an HR-20 that has recently started losing signal on tuner 1 periodically. I first realize this when I turn on my tv and dvr and get a message about not getting any guide data.

I've noticed this usually happens when I move/wiggle the dvr in the entertainment center. The problem seems to fix itself if I wiggle/adjust the bbc's.

If one or both of the bbc's are going bad, can I simply order replacements from directv at no cost? I noticed there is a "B-Band Converter Request" form on the website that I could fill out. However, this seems to be for people who didn't get them in the first place.

http://directv.qrs1.net/bbc/bbcForm.jsp

Do you think I could fill out the form to get new ones without having to deal with making a phone call? Has anyone used the request form?

Thanks for any advice.

I think plenty of people here have used that form. They arrive in about 3 days.

the guide date might point a LOS problems with 119 though.

Don't want to be a Debbie (Dan?) Downer, but mine never came after two submits 2 months apart...had to roll a truck to replace mine.

Anyone else have that experience? Hopefully I was the bum customer in this case :(

I've placed several orders on the web-site after repeated no shows. Easiest way is to stop a D installer and ask nicely for a couple of spares.

Let's do a little more troubleshooting.
Have you swapped the inputs to the unit?
Swapped the BBCs using the same cables?

I've tried that Web form several times and nothing ever shipped. I finally just called DirecTV, told the CSR that I had already determined that a bad b-band was why I was getting low signal on only one tuner, and they shipped me new ones.

I had a similar experience late last year. I "ordered" them on the web site, but never re'cd them. Only after I called did one ship.
