If I fast forward (2X,3X,or 4X) when watching live (buffered),then hit play, the picture often freezes(like it's paused). This is on an HR20-100 with Esata(FAP750).I must then hit fast reverse or FF and then play again to "unfreeze" the program.Tried a reset with no change. This has been going on for a few months.Everything else seems completely normal.Any ideas? Thanks!

I would be curious to see if you had the same problem with a different drive, or with the internal drive. I've heard some grumblings about the FreeAgentPro drives and their performance with DVRs.

I've had this drive running for a couple of years with no problems.I guess I'll check it with the original drive sometime to see if it does the same thing.Guess that would rule out(or confirm) a problem with the FAP vs the HR20.

No drives here, just what is in the machine, yet I'll get a PAUSED effect when coming off of a couple to three 30sec slips. It will sit there like if it is PAUSED until I use the 10sec replay or hit the PLAY button.

My Hr20-100 will do that too! I hit the pause button twice and it starts playing again.

i'll have to try pausebutton twice.I usually rewind for a split second, then it is back to normal.Strange!

That used to happen to me regularly, but has not of late (the last 2-3 weeks). I'm also using the stock drive.
I could tell when it was going to do that b/c the audio would not b heard when it came out of the 30s skips; the picture would move for just a sec, then freeze.

This happens to my HR20-700 (internal HD) once in a while. Have to rewind a bit to get it "unstuck".

i have this same problem on my stock hr20 and am getting tired of it for the past few weeks. I dont follow software releases but it's obvious they did something wrong here. Very annoying to have to rewind or FF just to play.

Also been getting less brripping but that's still there occasionally too.

I have no such issues on the hdtivo so cant wait for the new one next year so we can leave all these flaws behind.

Same issue here on a HR20-100 also.

I've had this problem for quite a while now and I can tell its about to happen the same way you mentioned. This happens on both of my HR20 receivers with stock drives (one -700 and one -100s). I usually just hit "replay" and it gets going again. Annoying, but not a show stopper. I'd say that more than half of the time I fast forward past commercials this happens.

I have it too. HR20-100 with internal drive. Coming out of FF it will freeze. If I hit play, pause, play it will resume playing.

would be 'ok' if resumed with play but mine wont. Thats what is nuts. Have to do some other function.

Sounds like it's a software issue and not a DVR/hard drive going bad.And these incessant "upgrades" are making the DVRs "more stable"?Hmmmmmmmm.

I have this problem also on the HR20-100...I also have a strange problem sometimes when I got to a channel the screen will be squeezed together and smaller then it should be...then i hit the back button and the screen fills out just fine. It doesn't do it to much but its still strange.
