Get a msg #51. DTV rep says it is a hard drive compatibility error although I"ve never mucked with the hard drive. Message tells me that the system must reboot immediately and if I continue receiving the error to call philips.

hmmm...any chance this means my HD is going out? Anyone ever have this error before?

This message usually means that you must perform a "Reset and Clear Everything" because the hard drive was swapped from another Tivo. Sounds like yours got goofed up somehow.

Have you tried rebooting? At this point you'll probably need to do the "Reset and Clear Everything" and see if the drive can reformat itself properly.

I rebooted about 6 times last night and it finally appears to be working... we'll see how long. I'd hate to do the total format again, but if I have to I will - it is my 6 year old's DVR and most of the shows can re-record, but I'll have to listen to him whine about it for a few days :-(

officially dead in the water. wont even display a picture now. DTV sending replacement out this week.
