Upgrading to HD, in addition to two new HD DVRs DTV will be installing a new dish for me. I currently also have two standard receivers (D12 & D10). I looked around and saw the new HD slim dishes which is what I assume I would get, but there was another dish with "SWM" if this dish is used I don't think it would work with the D10 - would the installer have to replace this receiver? Or do I need to call DTV and let them know I have a D10? Or would a different dish be used?

They should know you have a D10. I would think the likely dish would be the SL3 or SL5 depending on whether your market needs access to the 110 and 119 satellites (most likely it doesn't.) I suspect a traditional WB68 multiswitch will be used to give you up to 8 lines out to your receivers.

The computer system knows you have an active D10 and hence will not set you up for SWM. Especially since you are also upgrading, for which SWM is not eligible.

Ok, thanks. I think I see now, I was confused as to why some dishes had one little projector (SL3) and the other (SL5) had three. If I (somewhat simplistically) understand you need the SL5 if you need access to the 110 & 119 sats and the SL3 gets only the 99, 101 & 103 sats. I thought the 110 & 119 sats had the HD channels on them and thats what I needed but it is more that all the information is the same its just as to where you are in the country if you need to get to those two additional sats (110 & 119)?

So if I end up getting HR22 (or 21) DVRs will I need the little BBC boxes in the sat line? Or is that a completely different subject?

HR20/HR21/HR22 DVR's and H20/21 receivers require BBC's. HR23 and H23 shouldn't have BBC's connected.
