Hi, I just had Directv installed today. So far I love the service! They hooked me up with a standard SL3 w/4 coax outputs and a HR22-100 refurbished receiver. I was thinking about going with a SWM setup to reduce clutter. I've heard that the units that are built in to the LNB had cold weather issues. How would one go about buying one on eBay to insure they aren't buying one that could cause problems...or would you suggest another strategy? I live in Ohio, so we usually see a few days in the year that go below zero.
If I were going to buy one, I would use solidsignal.com, that way there is some sort of warranty.
BTW, you will still need a Power Inserter behind that receiver for the SWM, so I'm not sure how much clutter you are really going to clean up.

Yeah, it probably won't reduce the clutter inside. But it will help a little with the curb appeal and make my wife happy.
Thanks for the replies.

You can split at the dish and run a second line just for the PI to another location and terminate at the PI.
One line for power, the other for signal
