508 Caller ID Working now!

Ok, I've had my 508 for about 9 months now. When I first got it the caller id feature was very flaky. Caller ID information popped up about 50% of the time. I tried improvements to grounding, checking phone wiring, slaughtering lambs, everything. Never consistently worked.

Since the last update however, Caller ID has worked now 100% (or at least 100% of the time that I'm home looking at it).

I have read from a variety of sources that the problem was a wiring/grounding issue and not one of software. My evidence is to the contrary.

Any others?

I'm sure it was the slaughtering of the lambs that did it. You did do it when the moon was ful right?

am i right in assuming you must pay a fee to your phone company for the caller id feature to work?

Mine was wiring. Forgot to stick a DSL filter inline :lol:

And, yes, it's an optional ($$$) service. Cost should be in the front of your phone book somewhere or call the business office.
