View Full Version : So what happened with ABC? (Albritton?)
Turned on ABC last night and was surprised to find programming!
I'm sure this is old news and is buried somewhere in this forum, but I couldn't find it. Just curious to hear how things were resolved and I now have ABC back on the air... (DC)

E* and Allbritton kissed and made up a few days ago... and WJLA/7 and other Allbritton stations are back on Dish. WJLA returned right in the middle of Game 1 of the NBA Finals!
Thanks.
I wonder how they resolved their disputes.
Oh well...no if Charlie can just bring me some HDTV locals... :)

I guess instead of Charlie threatening to shut off signals that someone shut them off on him for once.

Give up on that idea of HDTV locals. There is simply not enough bandwidth for that to ever happen.
If you REALLY want HDTV locals, get yoiurself an HDTV tuner and put up an OTA antenna to receive them with. You'll get a better picture than DBS can possibly deliver.

I thought I heard some talk about a scheme to have the national affiliates put out a couple HDTV feeds and let us view them (maybe somehow figure out how to pop in local SD commercials, but keep everyone on the same timezoned HD content).
...that's what I'm hoping for....or heck, I live by a couple big cities...i'll take it any way I can get it.
(but yes, if and when the 921 comes out and if i'm still with dish, i'll throw up an antenna and get the OTA content. )

Its just a scheme. Likely just started by someone day dreaming about it on one of the forums.
