Over the last few weeks, I have been experiencing issues with the S4080R Tivo box that I own.

There have been quite a few issues recently where recordings have not been successful, as the end result is just a 0:00 blank black screen. I have caught this issue in the act, where the tuner was on a different channel, while a recording was taking place on another channel. The problem is that there is only one connection hooked up and I have verified it within the settings multiple times.

The end result to this issue is that the channel that was being recorded goes dark (black screen) and does not come back on until I do one of the following:
1) Full power down/power up of receiver.
2) DTV auto-reset (online)
3) Run system test which prompts to stop all recordings.

I believe that the issue is that the recorder is not forcing the changing of channels on the single tuner when a recording is set to take place. While I have verified that the settings are for only one tuner, I don't know of any additional fixes for this issue.

Is this box FUBAR? Any suggestions on fixes/patch updates?

What software version does your Tivo have?

Well, you've got the latest software. Not sure what's causing your problem.

Only thing I can be sure of is that the issue started on Thur 6/11, when within the Recording History, the Failed recordings started to appear stating that a Video Signal could not be found.

It is like it is configured to run with both Sat 1 & Sat 2, but I only have Sat 1 hooked up.

Have you re-run the setup and chosen only Sat 1?

Other than that, you're looking at a dying box. Average lifespan for those TiVos seems to be 4-5 years.

Yea, I tried that a few times. Going to give it one more go and then look like I will be replacing it. Has anyone had any luck with the DTV DVR's (Non-HD).
