How do they determine what replacement unit you will get for your older box?

I called yesterday for my hird-e8 died and the pp lady told me she had no idea what unit i would get. So who determines if ill actually get a hd replacement or a standard model? Told her my unit was hd. Is that it? Is there a list somewhere of models that cross reference?
Or is it just 3 categories and you get whatever you fall into thats shipped? SD, HD, HDdvr.

My Ultimate tv tuner 1 died an 2 is pixilizing . What unit will i get? I have tried the r15 at a friends and its a slug in comparison. I have not tried the r22 but it looks to be closer in goodies to the ultimate due it has internet ect and the r22 with dod. Im considering just getting mine fixed. CCS corp still fixes them.

Is anyone else still having guide issues with their older units? I am and thats one of the big reasons im looking at newer units then just fixing mine. Forcing the upgrades to mpeg4.

Yes there are different models but from my understanding if you get a replacement HD box then send you one of the HD models, an HDdvr and they send you one of those models and so on. It you get an HD replacement they wont just send out a random receiver and hope its HD. It all depends on what models ,the distribution centers or install offices whatever you want to call it, are in your area. From what I understand you cant guarantee what you get unless you call your local office.
