Hi all,

I'm just now watching part two of the season premeir. But the part an Anubi's ship destroying the ventilation shaft...the whole thing was not only reminiscent of Star Wars parts 4 and 6, but it seemed like a direct rip-off!!!! Right down to the explosion at the core.

In the set-up to the scene I think I noticed some "tipping of the cap", but I could have just been seeing things.

See ya
Tony

I was thinking they pulled those scenes directly from the movie footage...they were that close.

But, all in all I thought the premier was pretty well done. Glad to see Daniel Jackson back, and sorry to see Jonas Quinn leave. Actually, I thought the best parts were where Michael Shanks and Corin Nemec played off each other in the scenes they were both in. I think that would have made for a very interesting dynamic in the show that we haven't seen before.

Yup, the reactor core look awfully familar!

O'neal was in mid season form though.

They joked about it in the episode. O'Neal said "I thought we were going with red leader on this one". An obvious Star Wars reference.

It was a lot of fun. I was kind of hoping that Jonas Quinn would stick around as well, but they gave him a good sendoff and didn't just kill him off.

Shanks and Anderson picked right up where they left off. Their conversations always pop off the screen.

But forget the Stargate stuff...... any other 30 somethings out there going NUTS over those Battlestar Galactica teasers?

Vipers and Blondes and Edward James Olmos (as Adama's equivalent?) oh my!!

The subsequent Battlestar Galactica talk has been split off into its own thread.
