dvd recording problem

I have a sony dvd/vcr combo model rdr-vx525! Until recently I have been able to record nascar races straight to dvd. I now can't and get a message
stating that this movie can not be copied. This also happens on mlb baseball!
Untill approx 6 weeks ago I was able to burn these to dvd! Please help

I suspect they have started using copy protection on the broadcasts. Discussion of breaking copy protection is not permitted here, so I doubt you will get much help. Sorry.
