The Directv blimp moored at Brainard Filed (KHFD) in Hartford. I guess is it is here for the 2009 Travelers Championship at the Tournament Players Club at River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.

Yes I did take it. I breakfast most mornings at the airport and took it today.
Camera is a Sony DSC H1 (5 meg)

Actually, the blimp has been here for a little while now. Two weeks ago when i was mowing the lawn, this thing went right over my house. I ran in and told the kids and wife to come out, the neighbors came out to see what we were looking at up in the sky. Can I just say that i was the only one interested......I couldn't believe no one else was as excited as me. This morning, I saw the blimp again when I was driving into work.

I seem to recall seeing the Blimp at sports events before. I think it flew over some NFL games this past fall and possibly some MLB games as well. BTW, it is a great pic. Can't imagine what it cost to operate, did you see all the trailers and other vehicles with it that are probably required to be in the area as it flies?

So people are okay with the Met Life blimp using your insurance premiums to support it, but not the DirecTV blimp?

We have it over our 'hood a lot. Next to Citifield and they send it over for home games.
Pointless a lot of times since it has to stay high to avoid the incoming planes at LaGuardia.

More than likely it will be in Loudon, NH for the NASCAR races on Saturday and Sunday.

They've had a blimp for a few years now, where have you been? :grin:

It's been at world series games, all star games, pretty much anything fox carries.

I saw the one with the large TV screen on the side last year at the ALCS. This one doesn't appear to have that--probably only necessary at night games anyway.

I think that blimp's been around for a while. At least a couple years that i can remember. Still, very sweet picture.
