Hi Guys and Gals,
I've been a Dish customer for a little over 3 years, at which time I paid a "fee" for the "opportunity" to rent a ViP622 and a 522 receivers and an SD dual tuner receiver for my barn/music studio,(no fee for that those 2), for a total of 6 TVs. Last night my 19yr. old 25" Zenith system 3 TV, which was connected to the 522, finally died.:crying_sa
Today I purchase a 37" VIZIO 1080p HD TV to replace it. The picture looks like crap on the 522! I'm sure it's the 522 because the picture looked great in the store on an HD receiver.
Anyway, I wondering what to expect when I call to ask for a ViP722 to connect to my 52" Sony Bravia,(main TV), and move my ViP622 from the main TV to the bedroom TV,(new Vizio). Are they gonna charge me another receiver fee? Would it be better to wait for a ViP922? What is the usual outcome for this request? I'm NOT under contract at this time, and if I could get a better deal from Direct I would do it, though I don't really wany to go through all of that. Any advise?
Thanks,
Snyde

There's generally an upgrade fee for most of the newer receivers, but that fee varies depending upon a lot of things. The best way to know is to login to the Dish Web site and check your upgrade eligibility or call Dish and ask.

The 922 might be a while coming, so while it might be worth waiting for it might also be a long wait... so that should probably factor in to whether you want to upgrade now or later.

I called to do the same thing a month ago and the best I got was $99 for the additional HD receiver.
