ok Im thinking bout activating the MSP soon. I will basically want it for the college football season. Will this be worth it for me? my 2 big teams will be Michigan and Nebraska. Were in NW Kansas so most of the Nebraska games should be covered regardless, but the Michigan games will not be, not the national ones at least.
I have a concern because they have it at the local Dish dealer and I was looking at it the other day and there was a lot of MLB baseball on it, but when you went to try to watch the game it would this game is not available in your area. does this happen with the CFB also? Its been said on here its really good for college sports so thats good, because thats the main reason I want it. do you think it would be worth it for me?

Well, Michigan will certainly have several games on the Big Ten Network, so it would probably worth it to your for that alone. Big 12 games are typically on PPV if they aren't on regional ABC or national TV, so it probably won't help you for Nebraska games. For college football it really mostly helps for Pac-10 games that are only on their local FSN/CSN, or the occasional random east coast CSN game. Any SEC games on FSN South (and it's expected there may be up to 7 this year) will most likely be blacked out for you - ACC and Big 12 football and basketball is also frequently blacked out on out-of-market RSNs. I plan on adding it myself in September.
I recently added sports pack for some extra college football games. Its nice right now to catch some baseball games that run over a bit during what should be a post game show and catch a few innings of some games.

I had BTN last season when I have cable and I didnt get as many Michigan games as I thought I would have, but it would probably worth it to give it another try. Like I said due to my location in NW Kansas I shouldn't have a problem getting the Nebraska games even without the sports package. I think ill give it a try and if I dont like it im not out that much money I guess.
As an Ohio State Alumnus and fan; what I have done is subscribe to all the regional sports networks for $5.99/month. BTN, ESPN, ABC and the ESPN alternate channels showed 11 of the 12 Ohio State games last year. The remaining game was on ESPN+ and only offered on ESPN Game Plan; the costly option of about $120/year. This year, the University of Toledo - Ohio State game will only be on ESPN Game Plan, for example. I guess this is a way to force people into ESPN Game Plan and have to pay real dollars to see all of the Ohio State and other Big 10 team games. Now, because you want Nebraska games; these games will most likely end up on ESPN Game Plan (Big 12). Michigan, would have a similar arrangement as Ohio State.
One last comment, DISH network has 5 Big 10 feeds, while cable usually has one. So, when BTN is showing more than one game at a time, they would end up on the BTN alternate channels. All of the Michigan games were available last year on the modes mentioned in my previous post.

Basically if you're not in that local area you should expect a black out every time without the GP.
Sports packages from any provider should not be used if you want to see anything that has their own premium package they charge for.

Pros, yes. College, not so much.

that 5 feed thing is good to know and pretty cool. Id say 11 out or 12 games isnt bad.
