My family and I find BabyFirstTV useful as we have kids at our house from time to time...but there is one thing I find unusual for this channel. It seems BabyFirstTV is run through a PAL/NTSC conversion as a some of the images leave ghosts and other artifacts akin to PAL/NTSC conversion, yet the channel is based in Los Angeles.

Its a rather pointless observation, but one I find intriguing nontheless.

I've forgotten about that channel since I blocked it 3 years ago. You should call Dish about your problem.

BabyFirstTV is an al-la-carte only channel that cost $4.99 a month. It is not availble in any package. Why would you spend an extra $4.99 a month to just block a channel? I think that you must be thinking about noggin.

The channel is based in LA but, I believe that some of the programming originates overseas.

Why did you block the channel? It can be very useful...if you can get past the cheesyness of some of its shows. :P

But send an email to dishquality@echostar.com as they tend to take care of problems like that.

I've never subscribed to Babyfirst. I'm 61.

I don't think children at a young age care about the picture quality, to them it doesn't matter if it's 420P or 1080P, to them it makes no difference. Beside Baby1stTV is mostly for the young children, and the way I look at it, if they don't complain about the picture quality than I guess it's good enough for them. Now if ESPN had poor quality than I could see why someone would complain, because by the time you're old enough to watch ESPN you're old enough to care about picture quality.

Ahh, but the parents who watch with there kids would greatly prefer to not have to be viewing poor quality 480i content. I'm a DirecTV subscriber, and we see issues with Baby First TV as well. I don't subscribe to the channel, but did record a few shows the last time we had a free preview weekend.
