View Full Version : Fallout 3: I admit it, I'm an addict!

I've played through F3 and now finished the main quests of the game and each of the 5 expansions. I spent so much time wandering around the wastelands and D.C. ruins early on that I maxed out at Level 20 about 2/3 through the main quest and ended up playing the first three expansions for basically NO experience points, just to do it. I still have a handful of places and side quests scattered around I can explore, but I'm already jonesing for the 6th (and probably last) expansion coming in a few weeks, "Mothership Zeta." I find myself looking at buildings and wondering if they'd look cool as radioactive ruins and scout out good places for deathclaws to hide, or places for Enclave soldiers to setup outposts. I wonder how big an explosion it would make it I set off a Nuka-Grenade or bottlecap mine under a traffic jam. I sit down to relax and wish I had a piece of Punga fruit or an icy cold Nuka-Cola Quantum . . .
Anyone else as addicted to this weird alternate-future history as me?

Yes. Great game.
The dlc is well worth it. Pretty much expansion packs, not something like 'horse armor' or 'new car skins' or any of that crap.
Btw, if you love Fallout 3 so much, use a Fallout 3 avatar! (Like my Brotherhood of Steel one).

Nah, I'll stick with my ukuele or guitars. As you get older and your hands lose the twitch speed they once had, ukes and guitars are still playable at a high level.
The Fallout 3 pretty much consumed my gaming time when it first came out. When the expansions are all done and I'm still waiting for Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4, I'm gonna just wander around the wastelands killing everything in sight and blowing up every vehicle I find. The mushroom clouds when they go up are amazing. :D

Fallout 3 almost put me on the couch one night.. haha. My wife complained that all i did was work, come home, play fallout, sleep 4-5 hours, wake up before work to play fallout, then go to work... and it's true.
I love this game.

I plan to get the "game of the year" edition due out end of the year which will have the game and all the DLC's in one package for 40-50 bucks. I refuse to pay $60 for a game anymore.
Bethesda makes good games. I played probably 200+ hours of Oblivion and even more of Morrowind so I look forward to the same with Fallout 3. :)

I should get this game finally as I've played Fallout 1 and 2 completely through and played the original Wasteland (now that was a great game). I'm just afraid I won't have any free time if I do get it, as I'd have make a decision as to whether to play COD: WaW on the Wii or Fallout. Decisions, decisions...

If anyone gets this game, make SURE you get the Brotherhood of Steel DLC. Raises the level cap to 30 and extends the game after it is completed. Without it, once the game ends, it's over and you have to restart or make sure you have a saved game so you can get around before the game ends.
The best thing about the Operation Anchorage DLC is the body armor you get, which if I'm not mistaken, is the best armor the game has to offer...I haven't switched to anything else since getting it :)

Another Fallout 3 addict here, you may want to head over to the Fallout 3 Nexus, there are a LOT of community-created modifications to that game.

I even have the original Fallout 1 & 2.

I've been hooked on the game since it has came out, ever now and again i get a new game and fallout hits the shelf but in a week when the new game is beat im back to the wastlands again and now that they have came out the the new add ons the new levels that i bought off psn for about $50 and gamers that go get it new pay about the same thing and get the game and all the new levels free also the dang book comes with the new levels that sucks though cause i bought the book before the new release and sucks for me. Anyways the point is that fallout is the only game that i've played this long and still things to find and do, love it. CAN'T WAIT TILL NEXT FALLOUT just hope its on ps3 on not on the next PS
