Who does activation on behalf of people who doesn't have SSN?
Is there a list of people who activate an acct. on behalf of people who doesn't have SSN?
I try to setup Dish under the Flex Tv program.
But I already have my satellite dish and my VIP box setup. So after speaking to their supervisor for 1/2 hr., it's a no go.
She said Flex TV is a promotion, NOT a program. So in order for me to subscribe to it, I need NOT to have any satellite box / dish setup.
So she said she'll send some1 to come down to setup the equipment that has already setup in the first place and give me a 301.
I have a dual tuner VIP, why should I downgrade to a 301 receiver.
I know there are people out there who setup and activate acct. for a fee. Any1 can help?

Go to the Dish Network home page (http://www.dishnetwork.com/default.aspx), put your cursor on the "Packages" tab at the upper left, select "Pre-Paid" from the drop down menu, and it will take you here (http://www.dishnetwork.com/packages/prepaid/default.aspx) which says NO credit card or Social Security Number required If you click on "How Does It Work" you get to the instructions here which start with:
Purchase pre-paid hardware at your local RadioShack or DISH Network retailer.
Purchase programming in advance in $30 or $40 increments, in the form of a pre-paid PIN (personal identification number).
After professional installation, call the DishNOW phone number on the back of your pre-paid card, then enter your PIN and receiver information.
If you bought your equipment from "your local RadioShack or DISH Network retailer" you need to go back to them. If you bought it "off the street", you have a problem.
Basically no SSN no service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DISH NOW is for a basic 1 receiver setup, you need a cable TV system where you live.

Do a Direct-no promo or Direct-no promo-no SSN promotion. Works if you already have equipment. You might have to pay $200 to activate however.

Huh? Actually, no Boba, no. You are incorrect. With the Dish Now prepaid, you don't need an SSN#, nor a credit card.
But, it appears as if Dish is doing away with the Dish Now sevice eventually(over time). Retailers are being told to sell off all of their remaining Dish Now equipment up until July 31st, 2009. Then who knows. Current Dish Now customers may be grandfathered in, and continue to use the setup, or it may be phased out over the next year or two. No one knows at this point, but I would not recommend buying a Dish NOW! prepaid setup because you may not get your money's worth out of it($99+tax for a whole system, and it may end soon). I have had mine for over 2 years at this point, so it has been well worth it too me.
Anyway, they are now offering two new types of deals. i don't know if they are good until the end of the year, or until July 31st, 2009:
Here they are, with FLEXTV being the one, it appears, where no SS# or CC# are required(not sure about DHATOO:

Thanks, but I have a VIP HD receiver I bought brand new, and the 1000 superdish is mounted on the side of the house from previous people living here.
So prepay with a 301 is not an option, neither is this Flex TV, Dish says Flex TV is a "promotion" not a program, since I already own the equipment, I'm waiting for IRS to give me my tax ID#, but that wont not be until I'm ready to file taxes in April and i'm told this tax # can't be used for credit references, only tax purposes.

Or lacking that option, send a courteous email to ceo@dishnetwork.com explaining your situation fully, include a phone number you can be contacted at and the street address of your home with the dish on it. Generally, they by phone respond to requests within a week if they can help.
Unfortunately, you are just outside the ability of CSR's to make exceptions.
:welcome_s by the way.

Since you have the receiver and dish already, have a Dish agent do a Direct No promo No ssn 'promotion' to setup your account. Yes, you'll pay a $200 activation fee, but you'd have programming ASAP.
Edit: Chat reps can set that up, as can any phone rep.

Actually I'm in the same mess now. I bought a condo in the Virgin Islands, and the Dealer here fed me the same crap. Call DN and they said they no longer do the $200.00 downpayment thing, nor do they do the Prepaid arrangement (not like I wanted it). Someone help. All this equipement installed and of no use to me.
