I used to be able to find who called me by punching the numbers that show up on my missed caller ID into Google, but now, unless the number is found in a non-directory, Google only directs me to paid reverse lookup services. Where is my best bet to have access to free reverse telephone directory services, if there still are any?

MSN.com has a reverse lookup in their 'White Pages'.

The Ultimates (http://www.theultimates.com/) has always worked well for me.

You can try these guys also. They are ad supported, but they do not charge or try to link to paid services that I can see. The numbers are user supplied though, so it is not a complete list. I have had good luck with it for telemarketing scams as they typically seem to hammer using the same apparent number (no idea if they are spoofing CID oir not) for a while, then change.

Of those mentioned above, this http://www.whitepages.com/reverse-lookup is the only one that gave any usable information. ALL including that one refer to paid sites for any serious information. When the internet was young (back in the old days) it was quite good for doing reverse lookups, that is no longer true from what I have seen.

The few times I've had to do it, whitepages.com was what I used.

Have you tried either white pages (http://www.whitepages.com) or yellow pages (http://www.411.com)? Both have huge databases of publicly available addresses/phone numbers. They also have reverse lookup tools which might help as well, best of luck to you!
