Take the Dish Network HDTV Survey and let Dish Network know what YOU want to see in HDTV.

grrrrrr.....I put in my phone no. and answered the second question "NO" regarding the equipment and now I can't take the survey. :bang

I will buy a 921, and the necessary equipment for HD but not until the 921 comes out.....As much as it's teasing me, I really don't want to get a 6000u now.

I've considered getting a 6000u to, but I hate to give up my 721.

Delete your cookies and go back in and answer yes and retake the survey. I did the same thing you did and when I deleted the cookies it let me back in.

All they are trying to do is find out what special PPV items they can put in. I hope they continue with some of the free events too.

I voted pretty high $$, I did the max for the Superbowl $20+. I'm so desperate for HD I would pay just about anything...within reason. I have Dish and don't pay for the Discovery channel in HD, but if they put on ESPN HD or if they get the NFL CHANNEL and its in HD or any local HD channels I'll pay whatever.

I vetoed all the sports events and asked for movies, network and non network channels. We don't need no more stinkin sport channels :-)

Funny how they don;t give you a "Will Not Pay" option, just the $1-$5 range on the low end.

No option for comments or not pay. Asked for ESPN, History, and Older Colored TV. No General comment column.

I would NOT pay for the SuperBowl when it FREE on regular TV, In my opinion some things like Boxing and Concerts would be worth paying for.

To bad they had no option for Wrestling in HDTV. :)

Even though I sold my 6000 two weeks ago and bought a Samsung HD receiver for D*, I took the survey in hopes that you who are sticking with E* will soon be able to enjoy more HD programming.

It's nice to see them at least ask for our opinion finally on HD content! Geeze, what do we have to do to get some more programming AND the 921. I was confused about paying for all the championship games when ALL will be for free and in HD unless they happen to be on faux FOX or "must miss" 480P NBC TV. In that case I would pay to watch an HD version on another channel. They had better add some more channels by August when my "free" subscription to DiscoveryHD runs out. I doubt I would renew and pay $8.00 a month to watch endless reruns of Weird Wheels and such. My Local PBS in now up and broadcasting 1080i 24/7 for free. Some of the programming they are broadcasting (Over Alaska, etc.) has been aired on DiscoveryHD as well.

I am waiting on the 921 (I guess I will be one of their original lab rats).

What is on that is free for HDTV?

I did the survey and said that I would pay nothing higher than $20.00 for HD programs but it would really depend on the program. I really should get my 57" widescreen calibrated before I get the 921 - but I am sure that I have plenty of time.

I just bought a output cable for my PC HD card to output sound to my stereo receiver because I figure the 921 is delayed again or it will be slow moving.

I ticked all of the $1 to $5 options and in the box for what you'd like to see I wrote "all programming in HD for free and eliminate SD altogether".

Seems like they are looking at PPV Sports, and ESPN. I really have very little interest in most of it. Until HD is really wide spread the HD coverage for things like the superbowl is really subpar. The SD version, although not as pretty, is a better put together show.

I took the survey and in Option 3 told them I wanted Movies & would NOT pay for any of the events they listed. I pay them enough already. I would pay for a HD package, but I will NOT pay extra for any of the other events if they show them.

Wow, let's just totally waste space on the satellites *AND* piss off over 8 million people with having to get a new box and get the same lousy PQ on their lousy old TVs.

Scott, don't worry. I voted for wrestling in HD in the Other box. LOL. I thought the exact same thing.

If everyone says they want HD but few indicate they are willing to pay for it, why should E* bother ramping the good stuff for no corresponding increase in revenues?

<edit>

Their so-called "survey" is a joke, i.e., very poorly constructed.

LOL HD porn! I agree with Scott though HD wrestling events would be cool but knowing Vince he would want $60 for a piss poor PPV. :)

Nick, it's not that I won't pay for an HD package, I won't pay for the events that they had listed in the survey.

I personally won't pay for events that I can receive free over the air in HD. Of course, not everyone has access to all that content OTA. If I didn't have access to it OTA, I think I'd pay in the range of $5-$10 for access to the Superbowl, World Series in HDTV, etc. I might also be willing to pay for a full bit rate feed if my local broadcasters were degrading the picture with SD subchannels (most are not..yet).

I am more than willing to pay $2.00 to $2.50 per quality HDTV channel (that I can't get OTA), as part of a HDTV package---like $10/mo four 4-5 HD channels, or $20/mo for 8-10 HD channels. Of course, I'd only pay this much if the quality is kept at a very high level. I plan to upgrade to the 1080p Toshiba within the next year...
